Writer's Workshop - Dear Santa

3. Write a letter to Santa and let him know what you'd like to see
under your tree this year.

Dear Santa,

This has been a busy year.
I cannot believe it's that time
of year again.
Time for you to realise
how hard I've worked,
and surprise me with all kinds of goodies.

Scott's been in Kitwe since August.
We see each other,
every other weekend,
sometimes even longer.

I've been working hard
and have a fabulous class.
I'm now a single mom
(who does not date).
I've even begun my Master's.
I think I've been doing a great job
juggling
work, motherhood and studying.

To make your busy life
easier,
here are some items
I hope to find
under the tree this year:

1) Peyton Tattersall File Bag

2) Wolf Gift

3) True Blood

Thank you Santa.

Sounds like it's been a busy year for you. Pursuing your Masters while being a single mom is no cake walk - hope you get what you want for Xmas.

You have a lot going on, and you seem to handle it with great enthusiasm for life.

=)

PS. Merry Christmas!

What a year! I think that cute bag may make its way onto my list, too. Merry Christmas!

It still makes me so sad to know that you only see Scott every other weekend. I would hate that. When we got married (over 40 years ago) we decided that it was more important for us to be together than it was for us to make more money and for him to work longer, so when I retired at the age of 64, he also retired at the age of 55. I am nine years older than he is. His salary plus his pension would have been a lot lot more had he worked those extra years, but we decided we would rather have more time together. We have never regretted it. It just seems to me that you should live somewhere where you could be together.

I also think it is quite amazing that you are working on your masters degree. That will be pretty hard to do at this point but I'm sure you can do it.

I also hate it that Scott is missing out on so much of Ethan's life. He needs his father too. It makes me cry just thinking about it. As you can see, I can hardly think of anything else when it comes to you guys.

Bye for now. Love ya,
