Baking With Ethan - Jello Cookies

This week Ethan and I learnt something new when baking.

I was flipping through some recipes, trying to decide what we should bake, when I came across a very simple recipe for cookies. Jello cookies to be exact. The only ingredient I was missing was Jello, so we picked some up when we did our shopping. We would soon learn, that Jello and Jelly were not the same thing......

Cream 1 cup butter, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 egg, 1 tsp vanilla and 1/2 tsp salt.

Add Jello. Here's where we goofed. At home, Jello comes in crystal form. Here the jelly comes in a jelly form. But since we got this far, we decided to give it a try. We melted the jelly in the microwave, and added it. Let's see how it turns out....

Stir in 1 tsp cream of tartar, 1/2 tsp baking soda and 2 cups flour.

Ethan loves mixing.

Drop onto cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes on 350F.

Hey, they don't look too bad. But how do they taste?

Ethan loves them!

So does Mom like them? We might give these a try. I am always looking for new cookies to try with the kids.
