Dog-sitting

The new teachers have arrived. Part of their orientation is they get to go to Mikumi for the weekend. One of the new families has a little dog and needed a dog-sitter. I volunteered. Ethan's been wanting a dog, so I thought this was a good way to see how he does.

Meet Coco.

Ethan loves her. Maybe a little too much, if that's possible. We took Coco for a walk around the compound yesterday. Ethan's mates would ask who's dog it was. "She's my dog", replied Ethan. I'd have to correct him and tell him we're dog-sitting.

Then last night, Ethan came up to me; "Mommy, Coco licked my face. That means she's mine now." Yikes. We're going to have one upset 4 year old Sunday night.

That dog is just the right size for him, too. Anything bigger and it would drag him around.
I think you should start looking for a Yorkshire Terrier around you for sale. lol.

Coco sure is a little cutie! I used to have a yorkie and they're such good dogs. They're very calm , gentle and a great companion and guard dog. My husband once fake attacked me and he growled at the hubby lol.

I think it's time you went to look at some little dogs for adoption haha

Oh dear. Good luck when the dog has to leave. Maybe he can visit her sometime.

Animals are so great for kids. They learn so much from them. We have 2 dogs, 2 bunnies, a cat and a donkey. My goal this summer is pigmy goats and possibly an alpaca. Working on the fence though...

Awwwe, so sweet. Just seems so natural, them togehter :P Looks like you have a wonderful son. Pet-sitting is the best because you don't have time for the novelty of the pet to go away.

You've got such a neat blog! Dogs are so great for kids. I've had them all my life and they're such a source of comfort. Nothing makes you feel like a million bucks like being greeted by a bouncing, slobbering pooch!
